Inspired by the echo of the holy heart of Swami Vivekananda who had emphasised the need for study of Sanskrit which is the highest treasure of literature, religion & Philosophy, the then organizing committee of Chaipat Saheed Pradyot Bhattacharya Mahavidyalaya introduced Sanskrit as a main course study under UG general stream in 2007. The Department of Sanskrit started its voyage with the vibrant spirit after introducing B.A. Hons. Programme in 2008. The department had been running smoothly bearing treasure of students enthusiasm and whole hearted dedication of the faculties like Piyali Maity , Tina Duyari, Sonali Mukherjee, Sitaram Shee , Sanchita Ghosh, Suparna Samanta. Fortunately, the department got its scope to be enriched and fertile after the joining of Shila Chakraborty as an Assistant Professor as nominated by the C.S.C. The department faced the hardships due to the infrastructural lacunas but the unique thinking and energetic ambience of the faculties help the students to make them qualitative and skilled in their field. The department has been moving forward in the field of update educational system implementing both the language of Bengali and Sanskrit and classroom lectures are presented following the text books where the students are directed to follow the text books in classroom. Learning the Devanagari Script is mandatory for all the students in this department. Co-curricular activities like recitation, dance, music in Sanskrit are to be followed to make the students skilled in this language. Following the guidelines of NEP-2020 the department of Sanskrit is now prepared to use digital system in classroom lectures and take so many efforts to welcome the students in digital class and digital libraries. Skill based courses on versatile topics (i.e. ADD on courses) in every academic session are to be scheduled for the skill enhancement of the students. The department is now enriched with the team work of the present faculties Dr. Shila Chakraborty (H.O.D.).
