Welcome To Chaipat SPB Mahavidyalaya

History

History

The village Chaipat has a glory in itself. It is blessed with the indomitable spirit of its people and the zeal of freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives to ensure the freedom of India. The village is situated at the confluence of four enriched districts of West Bengal, those are Howrah, Hooghly, Purba Medinipur and Paschim Medinipur. The college is named after Saheed Pradyot Bhattacharya, who welcomed death with a smiling for freeing India from the clutch of the British Empire. However, its vast geographical terrain made it difficult for the administration to set up institutions for higher education in Daspur-II Block. The scenario changed when the well planned directions of the Panchayat Samity, the Education department of the Govt. of West Bengal, and enthusiastic support of the local community worked together to establish Chaipat Saheed Pradyot Bhattacharya Mahavidyalaya. The long cherished dream came true on 26th July in 2007. The Mahavidyalaya received its affiliation from Vidyasagar University and since then has been authorised to offer under graduate courses  on Arts based subjects like Bengali, English, Sanskrit, History, Political Science and Sociology. The college has applied for 2(f) & 12(B) status from the University Grants Commission. The College is now running with the heartiest and cordial co-operation of the people university authority UGC and Govt. of West Bengal.
