DEPARTMENT OF SOCIOLOGY

       In the year of establishment of Chaipat Saheed Pradyot Bhattacharya Mahavidyalaya , i.e. 2007 our College got the affiliation of the subject  Sociology from our prestigious and reputed Vidyasagar University as a general subject in the under graduate stream . Our College started its journey not in the smooth way but way of adventure and challenges to run the education among the students of remote villages. The valuable shelter of this college was sheltered by the flood shelter of Chaipat as monitored by Daspur –II Block Administration, had been utilised temporarily as the class rooms to run the department of Sociology. The eminent and veteran professor, Late Narayan Chandra Adak had kept a promising    confident by heart to overcome the hurdles of infrastructure with the help of local educationists, social workers and well-wisher   and inspired the department to go forward for the upliftment    of the students. At the very beginning the number of students was few and countable in hand   but gradually a lot of enthusiastic students exposed their waving to take admission in the department of Sociology revealing their interest in this subject.  Unfortunately, no Assistant Professor had been nominated till the year of 2019 but the indomitable spirit and cordial effort of the then guest teachers made the department enriched under the eminencies of Amit Bhunia (HOD), Pranati Mandal and Payel Maity. After the joining of the Asst. Prof. As nominated by CSC, Pranay Kanti Das, the department has been empowered and become strong to flourish the aesthetics of Sociology among the students for their betterment in the life ahead.
